So Portugal in January was ... calm, bright blue skies and warm temperatures, a great start to the new year! We visited Lagos one of my favourite towns – wandered round some shops, stopped for a bite to eat and then onto Ponta de Piedade.

As it was so warm I could wear a dress and feel the sun on my legs – always important to keep the vitamin levels up! Easy, metallic gold pumps that are essential for exploring and walking but with a hint of sparkle. And my hair in space buns, a really simple but effective hairstyle using a few hairbands and pins.

Enjoy my day capturing the heart of Lagos…

BOM DIA LISBOA!

Visting Lisbon from the Algarve could not be easier.   Train tickets are available online at CP and 3 hours later...you are in Portugal's hilly, historic, coastal capital.  For a European city, accommodation for Lisbon is great value for money.  We booked an apartment right in the heart of Bairro Alto, which was perfect for a short city break.

Down past Elevador da Bica, past Pink Street and along to the iconic square of Praça do Comércio, we caught the tram to Belém. A "must-do" when visiting, the tram is relaxing, offers great views and saves your legs!  Belém tower (Torre de Belém) a UNESCO World Heritage Site was somewhere I particularly wanted to visit, as I didn't get chance on my last trip.   Recommended by my friends, you have to visit Pastéis de Belém!!  Founded in 1837, they bake the traditional pastel de nata from a secret recipe.   I can tell you...they are amazing!!   Hot, with cinnamon, they taste like no other pastel de nata!!

Check out my next post... day 2 in Lisboa.

A day in paradise...

The Ria Formosa islands trip - another ticked off my bucket list!  Hop aboard a luxury catamaran from Cais Portas do Mar in old town Faro.  Cruise out through the lagoon, where you can spot the local wildlife.  Visit the 4 different islands of Armona, Culatra, Farol and Deserta.

Clear waters, secluded beaches and fish around your feet, it felt like the caribbean islands.  Tickets can be purchased here at Viator.

I want to visit again!

Ponta de Piedade...

My new favourite place in the Algarve!  Hidden, unspoilt views with the most amazing rock formations and secret caves.

Definitely a "must-see" and an Instagram picture perfect location.  I really love exploring new places, wandering and capturing great shots with my camera.

Outfit for the day was my new Pull & Bear mini combined with a classic white Mango top.  Always trending, Gingham is a summertime check available to everyone.  Shoes, jackets, accessories, pink, blue or black, whatever takes your fancy.

Check out my photo's of the incredible steps built into the cliff face... and yes I did walk to the bottom and back up!
