Bella....the only word to describe the island of Sardinia. Beautiful white sandy beaches, quaint Italian architecture and the best ice cream ever!
My friend Lisa and I only had 1 week on this picturesque island so we decided to make the most of it and hire a car. #roadtrip!
First stop was La Pelosa beach, Stintino. Situated in the north-western tip, the shallow turquoise waters are accompanied by an ancient watchtower, the Torre della Pelosa.
In and out of the car, exploring the island I wore my new purchase from Zara....my dungarees. Love or hate? I love them! Soft, light denim and easy to wear in the blazing heat.
Love, love, love!! My headbands are an absolute must on a hot, sunny day. Patterned long headbands can really spice up a summery look and cool you down at the same time. I always love European girls with bronzed tans and long, wavy beach hair.............complete with a headband.
I have made my own headbands using floral and bold fabrics. Otherwise Topshop, Dorothy Perkins, Urban Outfitters and Accessorize offer some of the best unique, delicate hair accessories.
Lunchtime and we stopped off at Santa Teresa, a town of colourful clean buildings and streets and a traditional square filled with shops and restaurants.
Baia Sardinia was the next stop........where we found Ice cream and We Positive bracelets!
Just caught the sunset on the roadtrip back!
Headband: Made by me (Holly!)
Bonjourno Alghero! The nearest town with its cobbled lanes, pastel coloured walls, bobbing boats and delicious ice cream parlours.
Armani, Gucci, Prada, Versace and Roberto Cavalli are just a few major brands home to Italy. Hugely influenced by the European fashions, I love the Italian fashion and how they always "dress-up".
Conscious to "blend-in" but with the hot, sunny weather I opted for neutral, soft colours; peach, white and brown. In the summer choose natural fabrics, comfort and cool to look good in the heat.
A loose peach Cami from Zara, white/brown stripe tailored shorts, soft leather brown loafers and a large leather shopper on my arm.
My little piece of Italy.....my Gucci sunglasses!! A birthday gift but definitely well worth indulging in. A good pair of sunglasses can last you a lifetime and can really set-off an outfit.
As well as a little piece from Portugal.....my Artelusa
cork necklace. Made in Portugal with natural cork Artelusa
offer unique, costume jewellery; necklaces, bracelets, rings and earrings.
Last day at my second home, Alto do Moinho in Albufeira and the sun was out and the temperature was definitely warming up! To continue my tanning I got my legs out again and decided it was time for some colour. And what better way to show off a pure girly look.......PINK!
Baggy 'My Stuff' Zara vest, bright pink Zara shorts, Gucci sunglasses and my trusty black Havaianas.
You are never too far away from a Havaianas shop in Portugal!
Not forgetting my love for hair accessories.............a plain pink ribbon to finish the look!
For those of you with long hair, a loose bun spiced up some extra hair accessories can look chic but cool. Headbands, pins, clips, bows and hair ties can add that extra something to an outfit. Accessorize and Topshop are the best for hair accessories!
Hair Ribbon: Off a birthday card!
I caught up with my Portuguese friends today.....Eduardo and Ronnie. With some work to be done on my tan I chose my light denim Zara shorts and an embroidered black smock top.
For those of you that are petite, you will know that it can be hard to find the perfect length and fit in shorts and skirts. These loose fit, short frayed shorts are not too tight on my thighs and create longer looking pins.
On the plus side I always browse in the children's department where I found this beautifully embroidered smock top aged 12-13 years. No VAT and if you are like me and like to be different, nobody else will have the same!
Accessorize up with some added beads and birds bracelets!!
Gale beach sunset.............the most beautiful view to end a day.

Back in my second home Albufeira, I wanted to share these photo's taken last September as they are some of my favourites of my sister and I. Hugely influence by European fashion, Portugal is probably my favourite place for shopping. Small boutiques filled with unique goodies but also European brands such as Calzedonia, Bershka, Stradivarius, Massimo Dutti, and Oysho are just a few to name.
I love prints especially florals and these extremely bright pink floral trousers were hidden away and had my name on them! Teamed with a plain black strap cami and other plain black accessories I was sure to make these stand out.
Keeping the theme of florals, my sister wore her green criss-cross floral jumpsuit. A simply, easy but vibrant outfit for the evenings.
Team up either of our outfits with some heeled strap sandals or wedges to add height. For those of you that have visited Albufeira will know that hills and cobbled streets = Flats!
